10/10 do not recommend. It has a funky aftertaste, the filling is even more flaky and it just doesn’t stick to your teeth like it used to. RIP butterfinger.

Impending Butterfinger Classic.

Dude. Butterfinger had the market cornered in terms of sticking to your teeth in a supremely frustrating, almost *itchy* way. I strongly love/hate that candy bar.

They were warned. Their own advertising was a warning. But they didn’t listen.

Why did they change it? They had no serious competition. Sometimes people seem to do “new and improved” just so they can say they’re getting better, but candy is one of those things that can stay untouched for a century and stay successful.
ETA: I read the linked Business Insider article. I wonder if the momentary uptick in sales they are experiencing is the honeymoon phase caused by the “new and improved” label, or if people will actually like it better in the long run.

They should have just rolled this out as a new candy bar. Butterthumb? Buttertoe?

If you’re ever in Spokane (no idea why you would be, but that’s not my problem) :
This stuff is like butterfinger but on crack. Absolutely amazing.

I rarely go to Spokane. But I can make my own coma inducing peanut brittle.

That is nice. The auto kills it for me though. That engine needs a manual otherwise it's a dog : /

why can’t companies figure this out - we don’t want new formulas. Even if its better, it WILL be worse.

Ahhh, Washington State “peanut brittle” (or so I’ve heard)
/being in Alabama, it’s my obligation to rip on anywhere else I can

On the other hand, the chocolate in the Butterfinger peanut butter cups is surprisingly good quality for a mainstream/mass produced product. Not sure if that's affected by the peanut filling change.

You boil peanuts and then eat them. That is disgusting. I rest my case.

I didn’t know humans existed who didn’t like boiled peanuts! That’s like saying you don’t like beef jerky. I suppose it’s possible .
They are kind of gross when cold, though.

No one has ever provided them to me warm or hot, that may make them more tolerable than raw squirrel balls.

I bought a case during its re release. Blech

Hot out of the kettle with Cajun seasoning :)
I eat them about once every few years, but they’re as addictive as....peanut brittle. Or chicken wings.

I worked at Pepsi when they discontinued that product. We dumped thousands of cans into the sewer.

New coke all over again
Could it be done on purpose to switch back to classic recipe, and to get people talking about it until then.
